Why you'll want to join...
The DTC was formed in 1950 by a few farsighted members of the Dump trucking industry. The DTC has its own
constitution and by-laws, officers and Board of Directors and maintains complete autonomy. We also have
representation on the board of directors and committees of the Washington Trucking Associations and take part
fully in formation of policy and direction of our industry’s programs.
The DTC is working with L&I and other interested parties to find a solution to the problems involved in the prevailing wage issue.
Our 1995 legislation moved safety responsibilities from the WUTC to the WSP. You will now deal with one state agency on trucking related safety issues.
The DTC maintains a close working relationship with the WSP, USDOT and other local, state & federal agencies.
The DTC Membership & Equipment book is published annually. It includes membership listing, type of equipment operated and supplier member locations. It is mailed to approximately 500 members of the AGC throughout the state, and given to members at no charge.
The DTC worked closely with the state of Washington Prorate and Fuel tax services section to implement a change which allows dump truckers to claim a 15% refund of state fuel taxes paid.
75,000 miles/6MPG = 12500 GAL 23¢ per gal = $2875.00 x 15% = $431.00 in your pocket
The DTC/WTA provides a quality group medical insurance plan with options available to meet your needs.
The DTC/WTA drug and alcohol testing programs are the best in the industry, and provide absolute certainty of compliance for members.
The DTC/WTA has one of the top lobbyist in Olympia in Mr. Larry Pursley. Larry has been instrumental in gaining beneficial legislation while protecting our industry from detrimental legislation.
The DTC/WTA Group Retrospective Rating Program was formed in 1982. This program has returned over 50 million dollars in premium refunds to its members, and reduced the L&I modification factor for members by 10%
The DTC/WTA was successful in getting lift axle control legalized for inside the cab operation.
Through the WTA, members are provided a quarterly publication which provides information of interest on a variety of trucking industry issues.
The DTC maintains a fully staffed office to aid members in obtaining information on working with state agencies. Director, Norm Miller is extremely knowledgeable of industry issues and is available around the clock to assist members.
The Dump Truck Conference of the Washington Trucking Associations is a non-profit trucking organization
working for the common benefit of all individuals in the dump truck business in the state of Washington.
The organization was initially conceived when a group of dump truck operators held a meeting to discuss
what they might do, as a group, to create a more economically stable industry in our state.
This small group had grown to the point where it was determined that they should submit a request for
Article of Incorporation to become officially the "voice" of the dump truck industry in the state of Washington.
November of 1993 marked another milestone when the Dump Truck Association joined the WTA. By joining
the WTA, our members are offered enhanced benefits and programs along with stronger political participation.
The Conference continues to receive its direction from a Board of Directors which are elected annually
from the general membership. This voluntary leadership is essential in providing the guidance necessary to achieve our objectives and goals.
Monthly Chapter meetings are held throughout the state.
